Watch the Travelista TV hosts Andrea and Teri as they jet set around the world in search of the good life - adventure, culture, cuisine, music, parties, and star-studded events!
The picturesque Swedish capital of Stockholm is a city of fashion, haute cuisine, striking locals, and a stunning panorama. Known for its endless summer days, the Travelistas visited Stockholm and Visby to partake in Scandinavian culture. From the charming neighborhoods of the capital city, to the non-stop dance beats in party-centric Visby, we were on board to partake in all the country has to offer.

Stockholm has been labeled as a floating city, because it is an archipelago, connected by waterways and canals. It’s easy to get around the city, and our fave forms of transport were bicycles (the Swedes make them so fashionable) and canal boats.Gamla Stan, The Old Town, is the historical center, and is most known for the Royal Palace.

We dropped by to see the Royal Guard on parade at the Royal Palace, with the hope to see the face of the princess. Well, she was a no-show, but we enjoyed the pomp and circumstance. And looking at the cute guys in their uniforms!

The Swedes are as beautiful as their stereotype, and we saw pockets of diversity and people of color, from Indian to African.
No trip to Stockholm would be complete without tasting Scandinavian delicacies and shopping for the latest “it” brands. The food in Stockholm is fresh and tasteful, and the city has many notable chefs and trendy restaurants. In fact, it’s exciting to see the Scandinavian spin on restaurants in NYC, such as Aquavit and Smorgas. The Swedish impact on design around the world is also evident as brands like Acne Jeans, Ikea, and H&M continue to expand globally.
Summer is the best time to visit the country, when the sun shines until late into the evening. We found ourselves eating dinner around midnight, as we were thrown off by the continuous sunshine. Then we would party with the Swedish jet-set until 6am, walk out of the club, and the sun would shine! Does it get any better than this?

As if we didn’t get enough partying in Stockholm, we hopped a flight from the capital city to Sweden’s summer playground, the island of Visby. This is where the jet-set of Swedenand other Nordic countries come for fun in the sun. Set amidst a 13th century backdrop, Visby was the perfect place for our party adventure.

As we strolled along the tiny cobblestone roads, headed to a chic spot for cocktails, we strolled past an elephant! We never got an answer as to why an elephant was strolling along the narrow cobblestone roads of Visby. But our suspicion is that it was looking for the Kallbadhuset after-beach fiesta! And so were we…

We couldn’t get enough of the gorgeous people at the afternoon beach party. Thousands of Swedes and international partyers shaking their thing for hours, popping bottles, spraying champagne, and basking in the sun. Trouble was right up our alley! While we were there, we learned a new song, “Gucci, Gucci, Prada, Prada”. It’s a typical European techno rhythmic song, with everyone pumping their fist in the air, chanting ‘Gucci Gucci Prada Prada’.

We even ran into the Swedish version of rapper T-Pain who tried to kick his game to us and “buy us a drank”! In the evenings, we partied at lounges and restaurants like Burmeister, where the owner convinced us that all the party people inside were gorgeous. He didn’t lie! Everyone was having a great time, enjoying the music, dancing, and flirting.

From after-beach parties in Visby, to the fashion and cuisine of Stockholm’s Old Town, Sweden was full of surprises!
